New release: Black John

Hi, all! It’s been a while since I updated, but I have a surprise rerelease to announce today!

My short story, Black John, was originally included in DSP’s “Cross Bones” pirate anthology. I got the rights back a few months ago and decided I would rerelease it as an individual title for those who didn’t pick up the anthology, or those who read the other book in this universe, Love Rising (currently available from Dreamspinner Press). The two stories are set in the same world, but can definitely be read as stand-alones. Please note: Love Rising does have a fantasy element. If you’re a fan of mermen, check it out! 😀

This fab new cover was designed by Natasha Snow. I ♥ it.

blackjohn-f-web

Former pirate Juan “Black John” de Avila has found a home on Isla Sagrario, a safe haven for men who desire other men. When Jacob, the lover he thought had died, washes ashore after a shipwreck, Juan believes he’s been given a second chance at love. But Jacob Bellamy thinks the safety of Sagrario is an illusion, one that will come to a brutal end should their enemies ever catch wind of their whereabouts.

Juan doesn’t want to lose Jacob again, but neither does he want to leave his home behind for a lifetime of hiding and secrecy. When the island comes under attack, Jacob is forced to decide what means more to him—spending the rest of his life safe and alone, or risking it all to be with the man he loves.

Heartsville: Five authors, five times the fun! #newrelease #gayromance #heartsville

I’m super excited about this series! The covers were designed by the awesome Natasha Snow for a collaborative project between Jayden Brooks, Nico Jaye, Cate Ashwood, J.H. Knight, and myself. We joined together to create the town of Heartsville, where all of our characters work, live, and love.

We’ll be releasing one story each day during the last week of October. Bookmarked kicks everything off on Monday, October 26th, but if you want to buy it now, I’ll list the pre-order links below. All of the titles are on sale for $0.99 (USD) from now until one week after their respective release dates, after which point they will go to their normal price of $2.99. They can all be read as standalones and in any order, but for the best reading experience, we recommend reading them all, as the characters make cameo appearances in the other books. 😀

To save his bookstore from closing, Mark Werner realizes it’s going to take a miracle—like getting reclusive, best-selling author Shepherd Knight to agree to appear for a signing.

After their disastrous last encounter, Mark doesn’t hold up much hope Shepherd will agree. Shepherd’s never made a single public appearance. In fact, Mark wouldn’t even know what he looks like had he not accidentally discovered the sexy stranger he’d been flirting with for months, aka “Tall-Dark-and-Grumpy,” was also his fanboy obsession.

But desperate times call for desperate measures. If Mark can convince Shepherd, it’ll be a major coup in the book world and might just save Bookmarked from sinking. Too bad Shepherd won’t reply to his e-mails. Yet Mark didn’t earn the reputation of having a “sunshine-and-rainbow-fart” personality for nothing. He’ll do whatever it takes to get his man… and hopefully not make a fool of himself in the process.

Ça n’a aucun sens…

Garnet Evergreen has never heard of an elf abandoning the North Pole for a human, but he yearns to be the first. Ever since he saw Wes, the boy with sorrowful eyes, Garnet felt an undeniable kinship. Over the years, he’s watched that boy grow into a man, and now he’s determined to give Wes a Christmas he’ll never forget. If only Garnet had thought to test his father’s sleigh before leaving…

Orphaned as a child, Wes spends every Christmas alone at his cabin. When he’s woken by a suspicious boom and finds a wrecked sleigh and an unconscious elf, he doesn’t know how to react. When they were teens, Castor McCormick was the bane of Blake Kowalski’s existence. Their mutual animosity led to summers filled with rivalry. Now, nearly two decades later, Cas is moving back into the neighborhood to live in his grandmother’s old house. Blake tells himself he isn’t interested in seeing how snarky little Cas grew up, but when his mother dupes him into visiting his former nemesis, he finds out “pretty” can evolve into “sexy as hell” on the right man.

Cas didn’t think he wanted to see Blake again. No one has ever pushed his buttons like the arrogant boy he remembers from their youth. Turns out, the adult version of Blake still gets him hot under the collar—and everywhere else. With Blake on leave from work to nurse an injured leg and Cas taking time to move and unpack, they form a tentative friendship that turns into a sexual affair neither man can deny. But when Cas’s job sends him out of state to deal with a difficult client, their new relationship will be tested, and if they fail, Blake’s broken leg might not be the only thing to end up scarred.

Amazon Pre-Order Now Available – “Hook, Line, & Sinker”

Hey, folks! I’ve had people asking, so for those wondering, Hook, Line, & Sinker is now available for pre-order on Amazon. It’s been hard to find because Amazon categorized it as erotica, which is incorrect. While it does contain erotic content, it’s not outright erotica, so DSP is working to get that categorization changed. In the meantime, you can order it at the link above and it’ll show up on your Kindle at midnight when it goes live on November 19th! 😀

If you missed it before, here is a peek at the cover and blurb.

The Luckiest - 500x750

Blurb:

Rock star Nick Ventura has finally hit rock bottom. Jealous of his brother’s new love, he overindulges in his usual vices and winds up crashing his car into a department store in a drunken haze. Publicly humiliated and on the verge of jail time, he enters into a court-ordered rehabilitation program.

Nutritionist Luka Novak is flamboyant, effeminate, and the type of gay man bisexual Nick would normally sneer at. But his sunny nature hides a deep hurt caused by an unfaithful ex-boyfriend. As much as Luka knows he should be wary of Nick’s reputation, he’s drawn to Nick despite himself. Their tentative friendship turns into romance, but Luka soon comes to realize Nick’s fear of losing his bad boy reputation means he’ll probably never go public with their relationship.

Nick never needed anyone until Luka came into his life. Now he has to reconcile his carefree past with the future he suddenly wants more than anything. And the first lesson he must learn is how to become the man both he and Luka need him to be, rather than stay the boy he always was. Alone.

Note: For those of you wondering, there were no major alterations to this edition of The Luckiest, aside from edits and minor scene changes. If you purchased the original version of this book, there’s no reason to buy this one, unless you just want the pretty cover. 😉 The books that are changed the most in their second editions are Moonlight Becomes You (released April, 2014) and Moonstruck (coming spring 2015), which both have new added content and are substantially longer than the originals.

New Release: Project Fierce Chicago Charity Anthology

Happy release day to my fellow authors in the Project Fierce Chicago Charity Anthology! This anthology was a labor of love. The subject of GLBTQ homelessness is near and dear to my heart. I’ve even addressed the topic on this blog in the past. When I heard about Project Fierce Chicago, an up and coming charity trying to raise money to purchase properties which it hoped to convert into transitional homes for some of the homeless GLBT youth in the city, I wanted to do something to help. I didn’t have the means to donate a huge amount of money myself, but I thought maybe if we put together an anthology, as I’d seen done before, we might be able to give them a sizable amount over time. The owners of Less Than Three Press generously agreed to produce the anthology and to give up their own earnings to the cause. All proceeds minus vendor fees (by Amazon, etc) will be going to Project Fierce Chicago. If you can spare just $8.99, you’ll be getting 20 stories for a total of 165K words, focused on the idea that everyone out there deserves a safe home, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Help us support this great cause! And if you’d rather donate directly to the charity, please find the link at the bottom of this post.

My sincerest thanks go out to every author who joined me in contributing to this anthology, and to LT3, one of the best GLBT publishers around. You guys have a supporter for life in me for agreeing to put this anthology together. ♥
