Hey, y’all! So, I spent this past weekend in Seattle, hanging out with friends and attending the first annual GRNW Meet-Up. I found out while I was there that thanks to the event, two of my books now have a home at the Seattle Public Library, which is more than a little mind blowing. I had a nice dinner with some of the lovely people from Less Than Three Press, and, thanks to dear MJ carting me around the towns near the Mt. Rainier foothills, I was able to do some research for the shifter series I’m currently planning. It was fun. 🙂 If I can attend the meet-up next year, I’ll definitely do so.
In other news, I’m happy to announce that Moonlight Becomes You officially has a new home! The second edition of the book will be coming out from Dreamspinner Press in the spring. Barring any unforeseen complications, it should hopefully be out in April. Just FYI, for any who have been waiting for it, this second edition will have more than 16,000 words added and it’ll be released as a paperback with new cover art. Woot! Some of the added scenes come from our free vignette collections, More Than Moonlight and Beyond Moonlight, which some readers have read already, but the other material is brand new and never before seen. (And for anyone wondering, The Luckiest and Moonstruck will eventually be rereleased as paperbacks, too, and Moonstruck will have a good 12K or so added.)
That’s all for now! Kade Boehme and I finished our WIP, Wood, Screws, & Nails, and turned that in to the publisher. Next we’ll be starting on One More Thing (One Thing #3), which should be coming from Dreamspinner in the spring also, likely in March if everything goes well. We’ll keep you posted!
So, I’m doing a special post about Moonlight Becomes You (Lucky Moon #1) because I’ve gotten inquiries as to when it might be available again. Unfortunately, the only answer I can give right now is “I don’t know.” MJ and I don’t have an estimated timeline for the re-release. What has happened is this:
-MJ and I took our rights back when they came up for renewal because we wished to make changes to the story and potentially get it into a paperback.
-Before venturing into the world of joint self-publishing, we decided to ask a different publisher if they might have any interest in publishing the second editions of the Lucky Moon series. They said they would consider it, and as such, we sent them the files for all three books.
-Now we’re waiting. Until we hear back from them one way or the other, we can’t move forward. And, while I know it’s frustrating to those who are attempting to purchase the book, it also means we can’t give any time estimates as to when and where the book will be available again.
Sorry for any inconvenience! As soon as we know what the fate of the series will be, we’ll let you know. But rest assured, the book will be available again in the future, even if we have to go the self-publication route. 🙂
And as a side note, if you haven’t purchased The Luckiest (Lucky Moon #2) already, you may wish to do so soon. When the rights revert to us in March 2014, it will no longer be available for purchase. By then we will know what we’ll be doing with the second editions for the series, I’m sure, but just FYI. If the series is accepted by this other publisher, we’ll have no control as to when it will be available for purchase again.
Thanks for your patience!
